Summer 2021: Swim Team & Pool Power swim lessons at
Camp Verde Heritage Pool

Sailfish Sports Project is partnering with Camp Verde Heritage Pool to expand current aquatics programs. We’re working to bring more opportunities for youth involvement by sponsoring the setup of a seasonal swim team and providing a swim lesson structured program to introduce more youth to the sport of swimming and its many benefits.

Pool Power

Swim Empowerment Program

Safety + Water Readiness + Skills & Mastery =
Lifelong love of swimming!!

We’re unveiling our innovative learn-to-swim program at Camp Verde Heritage pool this summer.

These lessons go beyond drowning prevention and learning swim skills to help children develop confidence and a lifelong love of the water.

Publications to Get Kids’ Feet Wet

Getting kids into the swim through the written word.

Kids love to swim, but sometimes they’re a little nervous their first few times in the water. Our two books help children feel comfortable with the process.

In “Get Your Child Ready to Swim,” fun games acquaint kids with water dynamics and basic skills. “Sailfish Sean Learns to Swim” uses whimsical characters and rhymes to teach about how to swim.

Ongoing Project: Winter Swimming

Sailfish Sports Project has been instrumental in raising funds to keep the Sedona Community Pool open during the winter months for athletes to train. This is the sole pool training pool in the Verde Valley that has the infrastructure in place — heaters, heat-retaining pool covers, hot showers, etc. — to have winter swimming be possible. Athletes training in the facility throughout the winter thanks to generous donors and dedicated fundraisers have gone on to set state records, qualify for national meets, and receive college swimming scholarships.
